The First International Seminar on Study-in-China Came to A Successful End!

Summary: The First International Seminar on Study-in-China was held in the International Conference Hall, Chengxin Building, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing on 24 March 2015.

The First International Seminar on Study-in-China was held in the International Conference Hall, the third floor of Chengxin Building, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing on 24 March 2015. The seminar was hosted by China Education Association for International Exchange, co-organized by University of International Business and Economics and www.eol.cn and organized by CUCAS (China's University and College Admission System).

During the seminar, Tian Lulu, head of Study-in-China Office of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of MOE, pointed out, “China is in a period of strategic opportunities in terms of the development of study-in-China career”. She also introduced the basic situation and thoughts of study-in-China career, as well as 6 undergoing tasks of China in this field. The editor in chief of www.eol.cn Chen Zhiwen also put forwards his opinions and suggested to proceed a joint construction of Study-in-China MOOC Platform and Study-in-China Network Marketing Service Platform, thus attracting more international students. Steven Hutt and Liu Jiao from British Council and Alyssa Farrelly from America introduced their own projects Generation UK and Project Pengyou respectively. Meanwhile, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing Normal University and etc shared their experience on international students’ admission and management. Eleven universities including Donghua University, China Medical University and Beijing Technology and Business University attended CUCAS’ interview and introduced their universities’ advantages and featured programs. Zheng Tianying, CEO of CUCAS, made a keynote speech during the seminar.

Another major part of the seminar is the release of Admission and Service System for Study-in-China V2.0. Following the spirit of National Conference for International Students Work, the system helps to promote the development of study-in-China career. On the initiative of China Education Association for International Exchange, CUCAS spent three months to upgrade and debug the original mature V1.0 system to V2.0 system and donate it to China Education Association for International Exchange officially during the seminar. China Education Association for International Exchange will make unified planning and arrangement to provide this system for Chinese universities to use for free according to practical demands.
