Basic information

Fee structure

Zhejiang A & F University (ZAFU), founded in 1958, is a comprehensive university directly under the auspices of Zhejiang Province and enrolling international students. Now 43 foreign experts together with 50 foreign language teachers are teaching and researching in ZJFC on a long-term basis. 

Campus Environment

ZAFU has Yijin and East Lake campuses covering almost 167 hectares. Its modern buildings and facilities in a setting of great natural beauty, surrounded by mountains and water, make ZAFU a most suitable place for learning, teaching, and conducting research.

Facilities

ZAFU has an ecological environment with functions of teaching, studying, scientific research, sports, and biodiversity conservation.

For this program, language classes at elementary, intermediate and advanced levels are all available. And the proficiency test will also put you in the right class.

 

Basic Settings

1. Students are classified by taking a proficiency test.

2. A class is usually composed of 20-30 students.

3.Electives are offered for students to choose from one to three courses according to students' interests and Chinese capacity.

Elementary Chinese Courses: Elementary Chinese Language, Elementary Listening, Chinese Practical Conversation, Chinese and Handwriting, Elementary Reading Comprehension

Intermediate Chinese Courses: Intermediate Chinese Language, Intermediate Listening & Conversation, Intermediate Reading Comprehension, Practical Writing, HSK Integrated Training (optional)

Advanced Chinese Courses: Advanced Chinese Language, Report & News Reading,  Practical Writing,  Advanced Listening, HSK Integrated Training (optional), Chinese History and Culture, Drama and Film (optional)


Class Schedule

A semester usually consists of 18 weeks with about 14 classes of language courses per week. It is 40 minutes per class and classes start at 8:00 in the morning.

Cultural Activities

Cultural experiences available throughout the courses. ZAFU will arrange culture experience activities for international students from time to time to let you know more about the history and custom of China.

Coverage

This scholarship is for international students of 1-semester Chinese language program, which covers 3,000RMB of your tuition fees, but not waive other fees such as accommodation fee. In another word, you only need to pay RMB 3,600 of tuition fee after receiving this scholarship.

 

Duration

You will be grated 3,000RMB for one semester, which is also the duration that you study at ZAFU.

Dormitory

The International Student Apartment is located in Buildings 5 and 6 of Area B. It is divided into single rooms and double rooms. The rooms are fully equipped with telephone, TV, separate toilets, broadband networks, water heaters, air conditioners, balconies, etc. In addition, there are also public refrigerators, microwave ovens, washing machines to facilitate the life of international students.

Canteen

There are three canteens together on the campus offering delicious and healthy food to students. This price is about RMB 3 to RMB 6 per dish.

Activities

There are colorful activities in ZAFU each semester including contests, lectures and recreational activities like art shows and sports activities.  

Vicinity

The transportation is very convenient, there are bus stations in front of the western and southern gate of ZAFU, and sharing bikes are also available. And there are also banks, bookstore, shopping malls, post office around the university.

5. Receive a certificate of graduation if you have successfully completed your studies and passed the required examinations.

Entry Requirements

1. Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health.

2. No criminal record.

3. Anyone who under the age of 18 should also get the guardianship statement verified by the Chinese embassy or consulate in a given country.

4. The success rate for students who come from Bangladesh might be lower than others.

Application Process

Step 3: Wait for CUCAS counselor to contact you, collect and submit your application materials to ZAFU for review.

Step 4: When you get accepted, we will send you a digital admission letter and the invoice. You need to need to pay the rest tuition fee (RMB 3,600) before getting visa forms and admission letter.

Step 5: Show the payment receipts to us and we will send it to the university for receiving the papery admission letter.

Here are 5 questions that international students most curious about this program:

1. Why is it Chinese-taught?

All Chinese Language Programs are Chinese medium in order to let you get familiar with Chinese quicker. But don’t worry, teachers will use both Chinese and English to give lessons.

2. Is it guaranteed to get the scholarship?

As long as you pay the tuition fee in time, you have 99% of chance to get the scholarship.

3. Is the money refundable if I failed?

Yes, if you failed to get the scholarship, you can get 60% of the service fee. For details, please refer to our "Terms & Conditions".

4. When can I know if I win the scholarship?

ZAFU will start processing applications of this program at the end of October 2018. Generally, the result will come out after about 3-4 weeks if you apply during the application time.

5. Is there any airport pick-up service?
