On September 19, Shandong Branch of the SWUN Alumni Association was inaugurated in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province. On behalf of SWUN, Professor Zhao Xinyu, President of the SWUN Alumni Association, attended and addressed the inaugural ceremony. Present at the ceremony were staff members from the Office of SWUN Alumni Association, representatives fromallSWUN schools, and over 100 SWUN alumni. Heads and representatives from Shanghai Branch, Ningxia Branch, Sichuan Branch and Zhejiang Branch of SWUN Alumni Associationalsocame to convey their congratulations.  

At the inaugural ceremony, Guo Xuzhan, a representative of the preparatory team of Shandong Alumni Branch undergraduate of the 1999 Gradein Computer Science, made a report on their preparation work. Head of SWUN Alumni Association announced SWUN's Approval of Establishing the Shandong Alumni Branch. The organizing committee of the ceremony deliberated and passed regulations for the Shandong Branch of SWUN Alumni Association(draft) and proposed candidates for the first council of the Shandong Alumni Branch. Zhao Xinyu and Zhao Jingqiao, Honorary President of Shandong Branch and a 2000-grade graduate in Chinese language and literature, unveiled the nameplate of Shandong Branch of SWUN Alumni Association. On behalf of SWUN, Head of SWUN Alumni Association presented Association banner and starting funds to Shandong Alumni Branch. Administrators and professors of SWUN presented letters of appointment to President and Secretary-general of Shandong Alumni Branch.
