XJTLU Explores New International Collaborations Through Campus Visits

Date: November 2, 2018

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University has hosted a number of visitors from universities around the world in a series of visits last month.

Professor Qiuling Chao, vice president of XJTLU, and Stuart Perrin, dean of international affairs, welcomed groups from University of Turku and Abo Akademi University, Finland, as well as a number university representatives from the Ontario/Jiangsu Student Exchange Programme.

Professor Perrin said the visitors had the opportunity to find out more about the history, vision and mission, and overview of XJTLU.

“Our visitors praised XJTLU for its rapid development and great success in leading higher education innovation as a young joint venture university in China,” he said.

“They were also impressed by the internationalisation at XJTLU, which has seen a positive increase in international student mobility over the past five years.

“All visiting parties showed great interest in exploring new collaborations in the areas of student exchange, joint degree development and research collaboration.”

Professor Perrin said international visits like these play an important role in ensuring XJLTU continues to build its reputation as a truly international university.

“We already partner with more than 30 universities across the world in areas of student and staff mobility, research collaboration and summer schools,” he said.

“Through these visits, we have the opportunity to explore new collaborations and share our success story with like-minded institutions around the world.”
