East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL) is one of the first groups of higher learning institutions of politics and law established by the new People's Republic of China and it used to be one of the higher learning institutions of the Ministry of Justice of PRC. It is now a university jointly administered by the Ministry of Justice and the local government, with the local government enjoying the priority of the administration. Through the efforts of several generations, ECUPL has gradually developed into a multidisciplinary university of economics, management, finance, foreign languages, etc. with a focus on law.

1. History

East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL) was founded in 1952; the urban campus is located on the campus of the former St. John's University. The new campus that houses undergraduate students is located in Songjiang University Town. East China University of Political Science and Law is one of the few higher education institutions in China specializing in legal education. In the field of legal education, the East China University of Political Science and Law enjoys unparalleled influence and prestige in Shanghai and greater East China, which is China's most developed geographical division.

Type A (Full scholarship): covers tuition, expenses for accommodation and living, and medical insurance during the corresponding study period. It was established to fund excellent prospective students applying for postgraduate, undergraduate, and pre-college programs.

Type B (Partial scholarship): covers tuition and medical insurance during the corresponding study period. It was established to fund excellent prospective students applying for postgraduate and undergraduate programs.

1. Non-Chinese Citizen; Healthy both physically and mentally

2. High school graduate.

3. IELTS5.0 above or TOEFL 60 above for teaching in English

4. HSK4 or above for teaching Chinese

5. Interview is needed

Actively promoting international cooperation, ECUPL has entered into partnerships with over 188 universities and academic institutions overseas, has been working with partner universities and academic institutions overseas, and has been working with partner universities to offer two joint programs approved by the Ministry of Education. Moreover, it has run various student exchange programs allowing for cross-recognition of academic credits with about 65 overseas colleges and universities. ECUPL is also eligible to receive international students sponsored by the Chinese Government Scholarship.
