What is a Guardian's Guarantee in China?

Students under the age of 18 who want to apply to study in China must have a guardian in China. Guardians in China refer to our relatives and friends in China, who are responsible for our behavior and financial situation during our study in China. If any accidents or financial problems occur during our study in China, the guardian will bear all guardianship responsibilities. They need to sign a guarantee letter to express their willingness to serve as your guardian and assume the responsibilities mentioned above.

How to Apply for a Guardian's Guarantee?

By yourself

Step 1: Ask the school teacher if there is a template for the Guardian's Guarantee. If so, ask the teacher to send you a copy. After reading the content carefully, fill in your personal information (including but not limited to name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, etc.). The Guardian's Guarantee generally requires the personal information of the guardian in China (they will ask about the relationship with the ward) and signature, so it is recommended that the guardian fill it out.

Step 2: The guardian needs to print out and fill in the guarantee letter, and then take the guarantee letter to the notary office near the guardian's residence for notarization. (Notarization takes at least a week, so be sure to prepare in advance!).

Step 3: The guardian needs to prepare relevant materials according to the requirements of the notary office.

Step 4: After the guardian in China receives the notarized guarantee letter from the notary office, the letter needs to be scanned so that the international student can submit the materials.
