On December 5, CSU Research Base of the Chanting and Broadcasting of Chinese Classics accepted the invitation and went to Taiwan to attend the 10th Conference of Chanting Traditional Chinese Poetry Integrated with Modern Characteristics, a  one-week exchange and study on chanting classical poetry among CSU, Furen Catholic University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Dong Hwa University, Tamkang University and Soochow University.

In the opening ceremony, Pro. Yang Yu, the founder of the Research Base, delivered an academic speech titled “Those Who Know Me Understand My Sorrow, and Those Who Don’t Have No Idea about What I Need--Appreciation and Criticism of Classical Chinese Poetry”, leading the audience to enjoy the charm of poetry from the perspectives of image, tonal pattern, rhythm, text and so forth. Life is like a poem, so the audience, all listening with great interest, not only feasted on the classics, but developed their moral characters.

CSU Choir took part in such programs as “Ganzhou: the Evening Rain Drifting down to the River”, “Passing Jia Yi’s Residence in Changsha” and so on, which demonstrated profound literature accomplishment, chanting poetry attainment and integration and innovation competence of itself.

It is reported that CSU has successfully held the first “Hunan Romanticism and Chinese Appeal” China University Students Festival for Exchanging Chanting Cultures in 2015 and plans to hold the 2nd one and the 11th Conference of Chanting Traditional Chinese Poetry Integrated with Modern Characteristics in 2017. At then, CSU will invite friends in poetry chanting society to come together again so that they can inherit and develop excellent traditional Chinese cultures, as well as improve their humanistic quality and academic accomplishment.
