The opening ceremony of SDUT’s 2019 Science, Culture and Arts Festival was kicked off at the auditorium of the Arts Center where the folk dance & drama Nanny featuring the ancient rhyme of the middle Shandong Province was put onto the stage on the evening of April 22.  

Lv Chuanyi, Secretary of SDUT’s Party Committee, Zhang Tiezhu, Deputy Secretary and President of the University, Yi Yuchen, Deputy Secretary of SDUT’s Party Committee, Hu Xingyu, Deputy Secretary of SDUT’s Party Committee, and Wang Libin, member of the Standing Committee and Vice President of the University, attended the opening ceremony, watching the wonderful performance together with the heads of departments and colleges, the faculty and students.

With the passionate music, Lv Chuanyi, Zhang Tiezhu, Yi Yuchen, Hu Xingyu and Wang Libin jointly launched the Science, Culture and Art Festival.

After the opening ceremony, a folk dance & drama Nanny featuring the ancient rhyme in the middle Shandong Province was put onto the stage. As one of the four works reflecting CPC culture, the drama, choreographed in Shandong Province in 2018, is a meticulous works dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the New China and the 100th anniversary of CPC. Based on the story of a nanny feeding revolutionists’ offspring in Jiaodong, the drama sets the Shandong folk dance as its essential elements, made up of Preface Life, Act I Departure, Act II Death, Act III Farewell and Ending Hope. It depicts the story of Jiaodong nanny feeding the descendants of frontline soldiers and martyrs during the Anti-Japanese War, singing highly of the profound love of great women in the extraordinary years, passing on the Shandong passion and revolutionary spirit of the union between CPC and the public, and harmony between the army and the people.

It is learned that 2019 Science, Culture and Arts Festival, with a theme of The 70th anniversary of the New China calls for fresh achievements in carrying out the great policies of CPC , will be held in two quarters, featuring a total of 16 exquisite campus activities, ranging from science, culture to arts. The festival aims at a cultural event and an artistic feast for the faculty and students to participate in, promoting the cultural elements flourishing on campus. A variety of activities to be unfolded to the public, including an academic seminar “Meet Academic Masters”, the 6th Spring Poetry Society poetry collection and award party, local dramas of Return and Hero Iron Mountain featuring the ancient rhyme in the middle Shandong, the 6th Chinese Dream and SDUT’s Passion photography and painting exhibition for the faculty and students, and My Prime Time and My Youth League”, a themed event for branches of the Youth League.
