The Kazakhstan Research Center held an academic forum themed “language as the key to ethnic and national unity” at the Russian Center on November 25th. over 40 Chinese and foreign students from DUFL, DMU, DPU and other universities attended the forum. The purpose of this forum is to strengthen language and cultural exchanges between China and Kazakhstan, especially academic exchanges among the youth. The meeting was co-chaired by experts from two countries, and was jointly organized by teachers from Russian Department and the Chinese President Office of SCO University. 

Students exchanged their views on the theme of “language as the key to ethnic and national unity” from four aspects. The forum contained two parts: keynote speeches and a group discussion, in which 26 students gave speeches and presentations.

It was the first international academic forum independently held by the Kazakhstan Research Center and the first academic communication organized for the youth, which is helpful for students to learn about Kazakhstan. The Kazakhstan Research Center will continue its role as a bridge to propel people-to-people and academic exchanges between China and Kazakhstan by promoting the realization of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
