On July 7th and 8th, 2017, the BUCM delegation visited the School of Medicine, University of Barcelona (UB) and its affiliated hospital. The delegation was warmly received by Prof. Francesc Cardellach, Dean of Schoolof Medicine, University of Barcelona, Prof. Jose Maria Nicolás, Director of the joint master's program of traditional Chinese medicine at University of Barcelona, Mr. Zhang Xiangyong, Director of European Traditional Chinese Medicine Development and Promotion Center.
The master's program of traditional Chinese medicine jointly offered by BUCM and UB will play a significant role in the dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine in Europe. On the morning of July 7th, Prof. Francesc Cardellach showed the BUCM delegation around the library, medical laboratories, wards and clinics of the School of Medicine at UB. In the afternoon, professors from the School of Medicine, doctors from various departments of the affiliated hospital and students attended a seminar “A New Vision of Medicine”, and listened to the academic presentations delivered by President Xu and others of the BUCM delegation.
In order to know more accurately the status quo of the Spanish students in the master’s program, President Xu talked with them face to face about the curriculum, clinical placement, dissertation, quality of teaching and future plans and responded positively and adequately to their concerns, strengthening students’ determination and confidence in learning traditional Chinese medicine.
