On December 19, 2013, recipients of 2013 Baosteel Educational Prize were awarded certificates and prize money at a ceremony held on the Chang’an campus of Shaanxi Normal University and a discussion session was held afterwards.

After Mr. Liu Jianbin, secretary-general of the university’s Educational Foundation and and vice-director of General Administrative Office, briefed the teachers and students present of the review and selection for the SNNU recipients of 2013 Baosteel Educational Prizes, Mr. Lu Shengli, director of General Administrative Office, read the “Decision on Commending the Teacher and Student Recipients of 2013 Baosteel Educational Prizes”.

Chen Yang was awarded the “Baosteel Special Prize for Outstanding Student” with 10,000 yuan cash, Hu Daodao, Yan Junpin and Cheng Pengmin were awarded the “Baosteel Prize for Outstanding Teachers” with 10,000 yuan cash each, and the eight students of Yan Ni, Lv Wei, Zhao Yangyang, Liu Huili, Hu Xuejia, Tan Xiaomei, Li Yongjun and Li Yingjun were awarded the “Baosteel Prize for Outstanding Student” with 5,000 yuan cash each.

Mr. Wang Tao, vice-chairman of the University Affairs Committee, Mr. Li Lei, director of the Personnel Department, Mr. Rui Guoxing, vice-director of the Students Affairs Department, Mr. Liu Xianfeng, vice-director of the Teaching Affairs Department, and Mr. Song Chuandong, vice-director of the Graduate Affairs Department, attended the ceremony and presented the awards to the recipients.

After the ceremony, the attendee held a discussion session. The awarded teachers reviewed their teaching experiences and shared their own understanding of education. The awarded students shared their experiences of learning and university life, expressed their gratitude for the alma mater and the Baosteel Educational Foundation and their determination to study hard to repay the society.

Speaking on behalf of the university, Mr. Wang Tao congratulated the awardees and thanked the review and selection panel for their work. He said that the Baosteel Prizes are an honor as well as a responsibility. He urged the awarded teachers to serve as examples and to be a leading role in their work and life, and the awarded students to have lofty ideals and dare to shoulder social responsibilities.
