Recently, the "Chinese Local Chronicle Classification Historical Materials Series" was published. This series is a major project of the "985 Project" of the History College of Beijing Normal University, and a major research project of the History of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, Beijing Normal University Historiography and History Research Center. The editor-in-chief of the School of History of Beijing Normal University is Zhang Yan, a special professor of the “985 Project” of Beijing Normal University. The series includes more than 1,200 local chronicles (Fu,Zhou,County old chronicles) in a total of 1663 volumes (including one volume of catalogues).
Chinese local history enjoys a world-famous reputation for its early, long-lasting, full-type, and numerous numbers. It retains a large number of local history, historical geography, ecological environment, political and military, social economy, customs, art and stone, various characters, and chronicles. There is a precious first-hand information on miscellaneous records, and it has the historical value of researching the history of the letter, the knowledge of the ancients, and the evidence of the full participation.
The historical materials selected for the series are divided into 8 categories, namely, geography, politics, military, economics, education, society, people, arts and literature, and under the various volumes, a total of 48 volumes. Such as geography: Territory Xingye Vol., Luqiao Jinduan, scenic spots and historic sites, climate volumes, landscapes, production volumes, evolutionary volumes, scrolls volumes, disasters volumes; characters class: squares volumes, performances volumes, fierce women volumes, Long-live volumes, XianShiDao hidden volumes, Xiangxian volumes, filial piety volumes, Yuxian volumes, loyalty volumes; art and literature categories: gold stone volumes, poetry volumes, preface volumes, writing volumes, etc.
