CUC Vice President Duan Peng Attends China Higher Education Seminar in Israel, Hungary, Spain

A CUC delegation headed by vice president Duan Peng attended China Higher Education Seminar held in Israel, Hungary, and Spain from May 12 to 23. To promote inter-school exchanges, the group also visited Hebrew University of Jerusalem, University of Haifa, Tel Aviv University, Eötvös Loránd University, University of Seville, and the Chinese Embassy in Israel.

Organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), the visit was aimed at encouraging more student exchanges and mobility and deepening inter-cultural understanding.

 

As the vice chief of the delegation, CUC vice president Duan Peng delivers a speech at University of Seville.

 

China Higher Education Seminar was held on May 13, May 16 and May 20 in Jerusalem, Budapest and Madrid respectively. Representatives from 27 Chinese universities participated in the seminar and held the higher education exhibition focusing on study in China.

 

The higher education exhibition attracts local students, teachers, ordinary residents, overseas Chinese and universities, middle schools and training institutions from the three countries. Journalism and Communication, Art-related , Chinese Language Teaching teaching and non-common language majors of CUC have received extensive attention.

 

On May 13, China-Israel Higher Education Seminar was held at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Vice president Duan Peng held talks with Asher Cohen, president of Hebrew University, and professor Hanoch Gutfreund, academic director of the Albert Einstein Archives, seeking more cooperation in higher education between China and Israel, including joint research, student and faculty exchanges, and cooperative initiatives.

On May 16, China-Hungary Higher Education Seminar was co-organized by CEAIE and Tempus Public Foundation in Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary. Vice president Duan Peng held talks with Gabor Dobos, director of Tempus Public Foundation, Zoltan Dubeczi, secretary general of Hungarian Rectors’ Conference and Ferenc Takó, head of office in Eötvös Loránd University over the further relationship between two sides.

China-Spain Higher Education Forum was held by CEAIE and The Conferences of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE in Spanish) on May 20 in Madrid. Vice president Duan Peng briefed about the condition of China’s Higher Education cooperation between colleges and universities, and students and faculty exchanges. He then held conversations with professor Jose Maria Sanz, vice chairman of CRUE, Coral Martinez Iscar, manager of Spanish Education Offices Abroad over collaborations, agreements and international mobility.

The visit has deepened the understandings towards higher education conditions in Israel, Hungary, and Spain. It not only promoted the popularity of Communication University of China (CUC) among colleges and universities in Israel, Hungary, and Spain, but also had great significance in building a world-class university strengthening the cooperation between universities along the Silk-Road under the Belt and Road Initiative.
