On July 22nd, 2016, Canadian ambassador to China, Mr. Guy Saint-Jacques, and his accompanying delegation came to Beijing Sport University for a visit. The delegation also includes a part of the spearhead of Canadian prime minister’s visit to China. Mr. Pierre Trudeau, the former prime minister of Canada, visited BSU in October, 1973, accompanied by the vice-premier, Deng Xiaoping.

The president of BSU, Chi Jian, warmly welcomed the delegation and had a meeting with them. During the meeting, two sides reviewed the friendly communication history Canada and BSU and exchanged ideas on the development of winter events between two countries, especially the cooperation on hockey. After the meeting, the delegation visited the Tennis Complex, Athletics Stadium, National Training Base and other venues in the campus, accompanied by President Chi Jian.
