The School of Mechatronic Engineering and Automation at Shanghai University and the School of Mechanical Engineering at Aachen University of Technology in Germany signed an cooperation agreements on the "3+1" education programme. At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Markert Bernd introduced the "3+1" programme in mechanical engineering to the participants. He said that Aachen University of Technology is one of the largest and most famous universities of science and technology in Germany. Aachen University of Technology welcomed students from Shanghai University. In Aachen, students can have access to world-class scientific research and educational resources. The Institute of General Mechanics (IAM), founded in 1870, is one of the largest mechanics institutes in Germany. Its research mainly focuses on the broad field of digital engineering, involving advanced modeling and simulation methods and artificial intelligence.
Prof. Cui Wei briefed the participants on the history and development of Shanghai University. He said that Shanghai University is a comprehensive university undergoing the stage of rapid development. With the launching of the "3+1" programme with Aachen University of Technology, undergraduate students at Shanghai University will be able to improve both their academic and communication ability. Shanghai University will continue to explore the various possibilities of joint education with overseas high-level universities, providing more overseas exchanging and learning platforms for its students
This cooperation with Aachen Polytechnic University will not only broaden the vision and expertise of students participating in the programme, but also expand the communications between faculties on both sides, bringing new opportunities for the development of talents training and international exchanges for the construction of first-class and high-level universities.
