Dean of Henley Business School of the University of Reading Leads a Delegation to Visit SUFE

On the afternoon of April 11th, Prof. John Board, Dean of Henley Business School, University of Reading, led a delegation to visit SUFE. Yao Lingzhen, Vice President of SUFE met with the delegation.

 

 

Yao Lingzhen extended a warm welcome to Dean Board and the delegation. She briefly introduced the history of SUFE and Global SUFE strategies. She also introduced the pioneering reform of teacher internationalization, the implementation of the Top Universities Partnership Plan and the rising international competitiveness of disciplines in recent years. She suggested that both sides further strengthen cooperation and deepen exchanges in scientific research and personnel training.

Prof. Board greatly appreciated the achievements of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in recent years. He then introduced the history, subjects, and present international development strategies, as well as the future internationalization plan of Henley Business School. He said that both sides had similar education targets and mission, especially in the shared goal of cultivating business talents, which forms a solid foundation for a win-win cooperation. Therefore, he really agreed with Yao’s suggestion. He hopes that the two sides can carry out cooperation in more fields, including scientific research and talents cultivation, to realize their mutual development.

 

Then, the two sides discussed in depth about the form of cooperation at the primary stage, and reached a consensus. Tang Yinshan, Vice Dean of Henley Business School, and Li Hong, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office also attended the meeting.

The University of Reading is a public university located in Reading, Berkshire, England. It was founded in 1892 as an extension college of the University of Oxford. The institution received the power to grant its own degrees in 1926 by Royal Charter. Henley Business School, the first Business School in the UK, was founded in 1945 and received triple accreditations by the three largest and most influential business school accreditation associations: AMBA, EQUIS, and AACSB. According to the Complete University Guide of 2019, its Real-Estate Management Bachelor major ranked 1st in Great Britain. According to the Financial Times Ranking in 2018, its EMBA ranked 27th in the world, and 4th in Great Britain, and its Finance Master’s program, 34th in Europe, and 8th in Great Britain.
