On the morning of July 5, 2016, Vice President Wang Wei met with a 6-person delegation from the Department for Development of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand led by Dr. Pramote Stienrut, Vice Director of the department.

Vice President Wang first extended a warm welcome to the delegation, introduced briefly the cooperation between BUCM and universities and colleges in Thailand, and expressed the hope that both sides can have a better understanding of the medical system in countries through the visit.

Mr. Pramote Stienrut, the head of the delegation, expressed his gratitude for Prof. Wang Wei’s warm reception. Later, delegates from the Royal Society of Thailand and Thai Traditional Medicine Research Institute discussed in detail with BUCM experts about China’s policies for TCM, research of pharmacopeia of Chinese materia medica and other topics of interest.

Ms. Zhang Danying, Prof. Wang Xueyong, Vice Directors of the International Cooperation Department, Prof. Ni Jian, Vice Dean of the School of Chinese Materia Medica, Associate Prof. Liu Yang, School of Chinese Materia Medica, and Prof. Zeng Guang and He Minmei, School of Management attended the meeting.

After the meeting, the Thailand delegation paid a visit to the Museum of Chinese Medicine and the International Clinic of the Dongzhimen Hospita.
