On October 31st, 2016, Robert Allison, the president of Loughborough University, and Steve Rothberg, the vice president of Loughborough University headed a delegation of 4 to Beijing Sport University for a visit. The president of BSU, Chi Jian, met with the delegation. During the meeting, two sides not only looked back to the achievement of their former cooperation, but also talked about increasing cooperation on sports, education, study, training and so on, especially on exchange activities between students, teachers and sports scientific research between two universities. When they talked about the achievements got by the students of two universities in 2016 Rio Olympic Games, two presidents probed into the successful experience of Olympic Games and exchanged their points in athletes selection and how to train high level athletes in universities. President Robert said, Loughborough University, as a comprehensive university whose Sports Majors rank the forefront of Great Britain, is similar to Beijing Sport University in students training and scientific research and so on. Therefore, two universities should pay more attention to strengthening cooperation and finding more cooperative programs.

After the meeting, the delegation, compared by President Chi Jian, visited the National Train Base, Sports Science Research Center, Tennis complex and other venues in campus.
Loughborough University established interscholastic relationship with Beijing Sport University officially in April 2015 after the signing of Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.
