Dr. Chang Junhong, Director of AMRO Visited SUFE

In the afternoon of January 12,Dr.Chang Junhong, Director of the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) visited SUFE with Dr. Li Wenlong a senior economist visited SUFE. Vice President Fang Hua and Yao Lingzhen met with the guests.

 

 

Before the meeting, Vice President Fang Hua gave a brief introdction about the campus and development planning of SUFE. During the meeting, Vice President Yao Lingzhen introduced the international strategy of SUFE and the mission, features and development of Talent Base for International Organization project as well as overseas internship of SUFE students. She reviewed the cooperation consensus that reached by both sides in April,2017, when Vice President Fang Hua led a delegation to visit AMRO, and put forward the hope that both parties would strengthen friendship, consolidate achievements, deepen cooperation and reach a win-win development. Director Chang Junhong extended gratitude for the hospitality of SUFE. She introduced the development of AMRO, and spoke highly of the international vision and the impressive achievements that Shanghai University of Finance and Economics had made in recent years。 She expressed the hope that both parties would establish the cooperation, and that AMRO would support the talent training of Talent Base for International Organization project. She said that both sides enhancing cooperation in scientific research and student practice is of great significance.

 

 

Subsequently, the two sides discussed on requirements of students interns and the establishment of a student internship cooperation mechanism. Vice Dean of SUFE Graduate School Li Jinsong and Deputy Directors of International Exchange and Cooperation Office Rong Jun and Yu Hong and Director of Talent Base for International Organization project Yan Huan also attended the meeting.

 

 

After the meeting, Director Chang Junhong and Dr. Li Wenlong had a meeting with students from the Talent Base for International Organization class. They introduced AMRO, AMRO talent needs, research methods and the preparation the students would need if they want to be an intern or work for AMRO. As an excellent alumnus who graduated from SUFE, Dr. Li Wenlong also shared his study experience in SUFE and his work experience in international organizations. Students interacted with the guests on the topics that they are interested in.

 

 

ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) was set up by ASEAN, China, Japan and South Korea in Singapore in 2011. It is the regional macroeconomic surveillance unit of the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation. In 2016, the AMRO Agreement came into effect, thereby establishing AMRO as an international organization. AMRO is mainly responsible for conducting macroeconomic surveillance, supporting the implementation of CMIM, and providing technical assistance to members.
