On May 27-31, vice chairman of the University Council Yang Changli and an ECNU delegation visited universities in Taiwan. The delegation consisted of Yu Jia, Minister of Student Affairs; Xing Hexiang, Director of the Alumni Work Office; Tang Tao, Director of the Archives; and other staff responsible for the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Offices.

The ECNU delegation visited seven sister universities: China Culture University, Soochow University, Taiwan Normal University, St. John's University of Science and Technology, Zhongxing University, Chaoyang University of Science and Technology, and Donghai University. On the basis of exchanges between its faculty and students, ECNU has established a new cooperation platform with its sister universities in the areas of general education, college construction, school history-materials exchange, alumni work mutual training, and teacher training.
