On January 5th, the General Meeting of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was held at the Administration Building, Zhu Zhiwen, Vice Minister of Ministry of education on behalf of the CPC group, Ministry of Education announced the decision on the appointment and removal of the President of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics: Jiang Chuanhai is appointed as the President of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Deputy Secretary of SUFE Committee, Fan Liming is removed from the position of President of the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
Member of CPC group,Ministry of Education and Vice Minister of Ministry Zhu Zhiwen, Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel，the Ministry of Education Lv Jie and the Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Education and Health Work Party Committee Yu Lijuan, attended the meeting. Cong Shuhai, the Secretary of the SUFE Committee, presided over the meeting.
Zhu Zhiwen announced the decision and delivered a speech. He fully appreciated Fan Liming’contribution to Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and introduced the background of Jiang Chuanhai. On behalf of CPC group, Ministry of Education, he put forward the requirements for SUFE leadership and the development of the university : firstly ,Shanghai University of Finance and Economics should study and implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and guide the development of university with the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Secondly, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics should take the “Double First Class” construction as an opportunity to push forward the intensive development. Thirdly, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics should unswervingly adhere to strengthening Party discipline comprehensively. He expressed the hope that the leadership and all the staff and students of the university would unite closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core and hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese Characteristics, work hard and continue to write a new chapter in the development of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, strive for building a well-off society in a all-round way and realizing the Chinese Dream of the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation!
Jiang Chuanhai firmly supported the decision of Party Committee of the Ministry of Education. He expressed the sincere gratitude to the trust of the CPC group, Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and the support of SUFE leaders and the staff. He concluded his speech in four points: “I deeply understand the great responsibility on my shoulder as president of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. First of all, I will keep on learning, adhere to run the university in the socialist direction. Secondly, I will keep in mind the mission of protecting the spirit of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, inherit and carry forward the fine traditions of the university that was formed in its history of a hundred years. Thirdly, I will adhere to the shared achivements of the development and improve the livelihood of the staff and students. Fourthly, I will strive to improve Party conduct and enforce Party discipline. I hope that under the leadership of the superior departments and leaders of the university, all sufers would remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind , create glory and splendor in our joint effort ! ”
Cong Shuhai on behalf of the SUFE committee and the staff and students expressed full support for the decision of Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and sincere gratitude to the support of Ministry of education and the contribution Fan Liming had made to the development of the university.
Cong Pointed out that the past year was a milestone in the history of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics . The school had celebrated its centennial anniversary and had entered the stage of development of the new century. The judgement that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered the new era made on the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the arrangements of "Double First Class" construction had put forward a new direction for the development of higher education. Rooted in China and strive for first-class financial and economic education was our original aspiration and mission. The Leadership of the university will unite and lead the school staff and students, thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; hold to intensive development and the fundamental task of morality education, adhere to the first-class standard of discipline construction and pursue excellence; carry one hundred years of glory and new dream and continue to promote the modernization and internationalization, informatization construction; enhance the governance of a modern university with Chinese characteristics; strive to be a high level research university with distinctive characteristics of the finance and economics and achieve a new leap in the new century, so as to make contribution to the development of higher education in our country, and the building of a well-off society in a all-round way and a modern powerful and socialist country!

Born in 1970 in Suixi, Anhui. Member of the Communist Party of China, Doctor of Science, professor of industrial economics, and doctoral supervisor. Current president of SUFE and vice secretary of SUFE committee，and vice chair of Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations.
