Liu Ximing, Party Secretary of DUFL, extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Toshiaki Koshimura , Chairman of the Board of Trustees from Asia University (in Japan) and introduced to the guests DUFL’s history, discipline development, faculty, international educational exchange and cooperation together with the infrastructure plans on campus on the afternoon of November 27th.
Since the establishment of the ties between the two universities in 1994, remarkable achievements have been witnessed in many fields, including student and faculty exchange, academic exchange and cooperation. Liu expressed his sincere hope to further deepen the exchange and friendship, create international atmosphere in both universities, broaden students’ global vision and improve their abilities so that the graduates from the universities will be competent to learn and work in a multi-cultural environment, accelerate cultural exchange between China and Japan.
Mr. Koshimura highly appreciated the construction of DUFL and was pleased that the students in Asia University could pursue further education on such a beautiful campus. He said that in order to overcome the negative impacts on Japanese education brought by the crisis of aging population and increase its competitiveness among universities to attract more students, Asia University now was making efforts to explore the possibilities of internationalization and establish a system to train required talents for future society. He hoped that the two universities could work together to expand exchange channels, innovate cooperation models, promote internationalization ， improve comprehensive strength and international competitiveness.
After the meeting, Mr. Koshimura and his delegation visited the Traditional Chinese Culture Experiencing Classroom, and then attended a seminar with students from Asia University who are currently studying in DUFL under “The Dream of Asia---Career Development Project”.
