MOU on Cooperation Signed Between University of Geneva and SUFE

On April 9th, President Jiang Chuanhai led a delegation of 4 to visit University of Geneva, Switzerland, and the two sides signed the memorandum of understanding(MOU) on cooperation.

 

 

President of University of Geneva Yves Flückiger extended warm welcome to the delegation, the two sides held a very fruitful meeting. President Jiang Chuanhai express gratitude to the concern and support of the University of Geneva in SUFE’s process of development. President Yves Flückiger recalled his visit to SUFE last year during the centennial celebration. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on trends of education development as globalization further develops and experiences of internationalization, discipline construction and promotion of scientific research, and reached consensus on scientific research cooperation and the program of training talents for international organizations.

Subsequently, in witness of the representatives of the two sides, President Jiang Chuanhai and President Yves Flückiger signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two universities.

The memorandum was an important step for the comprehensive exchanges and cooperation between University of Geneva and SUFE. In the earlier period, the two universities had maintained close ties. In 2016 and 2017, the president of the two sides respectively led a visit to each other, and discussed cooperation in some key disciplines. In 2017, the president of Yves Flückiger was invited to attend a series of activities and addressed at the centennial celebration conference. The two sides discussed on the issues of teachers and students exchanges and cooperation in scientific research.

Located in Geneva, Switzerland, University of Geneva (University of Geneva) was founded in 1559.It is a public university and also the second largest university in Switzerland. As one of the top 100 universities in the world, its outstanding research and teaching are well known,it is a member of the European Research University Alliance (LERU) and the Coimbra group (CG). The university ranked ninety-eighth in QS World University rankings and the top 150 in law and mathematics.

Wei Hang, executive vice Dean of College of Business, Li Hong Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and Sun Bing, Dean of International Cultural Exchange School, also attended the meeting.
