Should scientific research achievements wait to be discovered with the belief of “good wine needs no bush”, or should we actively cooperate with organizations or companies to turn them into productive force? QUST chooses the latter, and the choice has been proved successful. On January 20th, an article with a key title of QUST: to Develop the University with Teaching, Research and Production on Science Times introduced QUST’s advanced concepts and practices on how to transform technological outcomes into industrial productivity. 

The reports gave a thorough introduction to QUST’s achievements of the integration of research, teaching and production, turning achievement into productive force and serving the local economy and enterprises, such as to develop the “Rubber Valley” of China with local government, to rely on market rather than QUST to promote the transformation of technological results into productivity, to serve the regional economy and to establish a national new material production base. The reports pointed out that QUST set a good example of how to turn its scientific and research achievements into productive force and how to attract enterprises to support the scientific research of universities. During recent years, QUST takes the initiative to emancipate itself from the confining campus, and seeks for cooperation with both enterprises and local government, and has established an innovative format to integrate research, teaching and production, which paves a special way of doing science and technology and transforming technological results into industrial productivity.
