Officials of the Public Affairs Section of Embassy of the United States in China Visited Beifang University of Nationalities

On March 16, a group of people visited the University and conducted negotiation including Harvey Sernovitz (Xie Hanwei), Cultural Affairs Official of the Public Affairs Section of Embassy of the United States in China, Huang Taozhen, education project assistant, and Wang Juan, Deputy Director of European, Americas and Oceanian Affairs Division of Foreign Affairs Office of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The related heads of School of International Education and Division of International Cooperation and Exchange participated in the meeting, and accompanied the visiting guests to visit School of International Education, the Exhibition Hall of Featured Achievements in the Library, and the facilities and environment on the campus.

At the meeting, Bai Hualong, Associate Dean of School of International Education, welcomed the group led by Mr. Xie Hanwei and introduced the general information of the University and School of International Education. Miao Ting, Deputy Division Chief of International Cooperation and Exchange, discussed with the group on launching master and doctoral program between the University and American colleges and universities, as well as Fulbright Visiting Research Scholars Program, teaching assistant of foreign languages and research programs of doctoral dissertation.

Xie Hanwei expressed his gratitude to the University for the warm reception and hospitality, then he made detailed introduction to the education system of American colleges and universities. Meanwhile, he maintained that, he would like to build a bridge for cooperation and exchange between the University and American colleges and universities; he hoped that, through the opportunity of visiting the University this time, teachers and students could have a better understanding and participation, thus to further promote the educational exchange and cultural understanding between China and US.

This visit has built a platform for the University to further widen the channels of foreign exchange and cooperation, as well as expand the influence of the University.
