On the afternoon of May 17, local time, President Liu Hong paid a visit to the Chinese embassy in the UK, meeting with Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the UK Liu Xiaoming, the well-known DUFL alumnus. She also called at the Educational Department of the embassy and communicated with Counselor Xia Jianhui.
President Liu expressed affectionate greetings to Ambassador Liu Xiaoming from the teachers and students of his Alma mater, and delivered in person to him the handwritten letters by the students of the School of English Studies in DUFL, where he was welcome back at any time. President Liu gave a brief introduction of DUFL’s current construction and development as well as the achievements in various fields.
Ambassador liu xiaoming said that, as a DUFL English major graduate, he kept close track of the development of his Alma mater and is sincerely pleased with its recent achievements in scientific research and discipline construction. He also expressed his concern about the internationalized school running and Confucius institutes construction, promising to make efforts to promote the multi-level and multi-field cooperation between DUFL and its counterpart universities in the UK, giving DUFL students his best wishes for academic success and moral development.
President Liu and her delegation also visited the Educational Department of the embassy and had an in-depth communication with Counselor Xia Jianhui.
