On April 16, President Qiao Jianyong met YU Haisui Pro-Vice-Chancellor of University of Nottingham, who was selected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2011.

Firstly, President Qiao expressed his warm welcome. Then, he introduced BUPT’s history, scientific research, professional features and academic structures to our guests. President Qiao said that BUPT is a key national university distinguished by the teaching and research in the field of information communications, computer science, and electronic engineering. He indicated that BUPT attaches great importance to international cooperation with foreign institutions, joint laboratory and student exchange programs. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Yu presented not only his congratulations on a number of successes BUPT achieved in the last few years, but also his intentions on establishing a cooperation between BUPT and University of Nottingham. Lastly, President Qiao pointed out that next year (2015) is our 60th anniversary celebration of the founding and welcome Pro-Vice-Chancellor Yu to participate in the celebration. Meanwhile, Pro-Vice-Chancellor invited Yu President Qiao to University of Nottingham and to conduct a field trip. 

Ren Chunxia, the Director of International Office, and Yang Ying, the Deputy Director of International Office at China University of Mining & Technology, were also participated in the meeting.
