President LIU Wei of Renmin University China (RUC) led a team of representatives to visit Russia and the Czech Republic from 21st -27th October. They visited St Petersburg State University (SPbU) and St Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance in Russia and Charles University (CU) in the Czech Republic as well as the Chinese embassies in both countries and attended a high level economics conference while in Russia.
Amongst topics of conversation at SPbU were China-related subjects on offer at SPbU, and an agreement to exchange 20 scholarship funded students between the two schools, a new feature in the cooperation since an agreement for cooperation between the two schools was signed in 2015, other results of this long term cooperation include the establishing of China-related subjects at SPbU and the Russia-related Research Centre at RUC. Further cooperation for the future was discussed at the meeting.
On the 25th the team of representatives led by the President visited the embassy and met with the ambassador there to discuss educational exchanges and future developments. On the 26th the team visited CU to discuss visits and exchanges of students and staff in the future, as well as opportunities for cooperation in academic research.
