Tong Shijun, University Council chairman of ECNU , recently met with President of the Konkuk University of South Korea, Yan Xiangji, to recall the past ten years of exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.

ECNU and Konkuk University have expressed both sides’ views to deepen co-operation in the fields of student exchanges, mutual visits, study tours, etc. During the meeting, the delegation from Konkuk proposed to extend the programs for undergraduate students' in the 2+2 double degree project, as well as the 1+1 joint training for postgraduate students. Based on these arrangements, both universities hope to take this opportunity to further promote academic exchanges and improve upon other initiatives.

The Konkuk University of South Korea signed a cooperation and exchange agreement with ECNU on April 23, 2009, whereby 23 undergraduates from ECNU were sent to Konkun Univeristy as exchange students, while 29 exchange students and 6 self-funded students came to study at ECNU.
