Prof. Susan Gass Was Appointed by Southeast University as Visiting Professor and Delivered the Academic Lecture

In the afternoon of February 27, the appointment ceremony was held at the conference hall of the School of Foreign Languages, Jiulonghu Campus, Southeast University. Professor Susan Gass, the internationally renowned applied linguist from Michigan State University was appointed as the visiting professor. Zhou Youyong, Vice President of Southeast University, conferred the Letter of Appointment to her and helped her wear the school badge of Southeast University. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Chen Meihua, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages.

Professor Susan Gass is the former Chairman of the International Association of Applied Linguistics and is right now serving as Associate Editor of Studies in Second Language Acquisition, Director of the English Language Center of Michigan State University, Co-director of the Center for Language Education and Research, and Co-director of the Language Teaching Promotion Center.

       After the ceremony, Professor Susan Gass delivered a lecture titled “Foreign Language Education: Rethinking Expectations” to the teachers and students of the School of Foreign Languages.
