Ju Shuwen, a teacher from the School of Asian and African Studies of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) got the first prize in the finals of the first national Arabic Language Teaching Competition, which were held at Beijing Foreign Studies University on May 6, 2019.
The competition was open to universities with Arabic majors across the country. Selected from the preliminaries and semi-finals, 14 competitors eventually advanced to the finals.
The finals consisted of two parts, one is to simulate 10-minute class-teaching in Arabic language, and the other is to answer the experts' questions. Ju explained the arrangement and key points of writing courses for SISU undergraduates in Arabic majors. The judges appreciated her fluent Arabic and professional knowledge.
This award shows the achievements of School of Asian and African Studies in constructing curriculum, promoting teaching quality and developing characteristic brand courses.
