SMU News, Sep. 30th On the evening of September 29th, Chengdu held the National Day Reception, hosted by The People’s Government of Sichuan Province and undertaken by the Department of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs, Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, in honor of the 68thanniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China. Eight representatives of SMU including minority students and faculties of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange participated in the Reception in response to the invitation. Zhu Hexin, Deputy Provincial Governor of Sichuan Province, attended the Reception and delivered a speech.
Provincial and municipal leaders, officials of foreign consulates in Sichuan and Chongqing, foreign-funded enterprises, commercial institutions, foreign experts, overseas student representatives, minority student representatives, and friends from all over the world assembled here to observe the 68thbirthday of People’s Republic of China. Five minority student representatives of Tibetan, Yi, Hui, Zhuang and Tujia nationalities drew much attention from participants, who took a lot of group photos after the meeting.
