SMU News, May 15 The 9th Chinese Ethnic Minority Cultural Week was successfully held in Macao on May 2nd, 2018 to improve cross-strait cultural communication, enhance the interaction and friendship of cross-strait students, then inherit and carry forward the traditional culture of the Chinese nation. It was hosted by Association for the Promotion of the Unity of the Chinese Nation, guided by the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government and the Coordination Department of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, and sponsored by the Macao Foundation.
SMU sent 10 teachers and students of ethnic minorities to participate in this event. Everyone successfully completed this exchange activity with good attitude and excellent results, which was unanimously endorsed by brother colleges and universities. And they established a profound friendship with youths from all parts of the country and won the praise of people from the organizers and all walks of life in Macau.
The Chinese Ethnic Minority Cultural Week raised the awareness of the Chinese traditional culture of all Chinese peoples and enhanced their understanding of the profound cultural connotation of the Chinese nation. Therefore, students can feel the friendship of the Chinese nation with common fate and shoulder the responsibility of promoting the unity of the Chinese nation.
