On December 30, 2013, Shaanxi Normal University signed an agreement with Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture to establish a Coordinated Innovation Center for Shaanxi Cultural Resources Development in SNNU at a ceremony held on the university’s Chang’an campus.

Mr. Liu Kuanren, director-general of Shaanxi Department of Culture, and SNNU president Prof. Fang Yu, signed the framework agreement of cooperation and unveiled the Center.

Under the agreement, the two parties will focus on major issues such as national cultural soft power construction and carry out cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, public cultural service and cultural resources sharing platform development.

The priority of cooperation will be coordinated innovation in the areas of socialist core value system, inheritance of outstanding traditional culture, theoretical innovation in cultural development and cultural industry, integration of Shaanxi cultural resources, outward dissemination of Shaanxi culture, “Silkroad” cultural resource development, etc.

The goal of the Center is to build itself into a high level platform for international academic exchange and cooperation, attracting professional masterminds, leading theoretical innovation, and serving national social and cultural development.
