Shaanxi Normal University Publishing House Co., Ltd. will be granted a ten million yuan fund from the 2013 National Special Fund for Cultural Industry Development by the Ministry of Finance, in support of its project – the “Database of Yan’an Zhiqing’s (Educated Youth) Oral Accounts”, according to the Ministry of Education.

The Database will include texts, video, audio, cultural records, research findings on and recollections of educated youths, objects like tools and utensils they used, in the media forms of printed materials, recordings, images and videos, which will be digitalized for multimedia publication.

The oral account of the “Struggling Youth” of a generation of Chinese young people will serve both as a record and reflection of that period of history, as well as a source for further advocating and carrying forward the “Yan’an Spirit”.

In 2010 and 2011, the House also received two grants of five million yuan each from the same fund for digital school bag project and campus terminal of knowledge engine.
