Being informed with the contest in August this year, he was so excited and eager to show his passion for Chinese culture through calligraphy. Paulo said the he specially chose a famous poem created by Mao Zedong because he loved the great poem, appreciated “talents in both literature and military affairs” in the content and was also attracted by the temperament of the poet. After knowing the result of the contest, Paulo thanked teachers in Confucius institute for guiding and hoped to keep learning Chinese.
