MU News, Jun. 22 On the afternoon of June 20, SMU held Symposium for Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars at the Government Expense & Training Meeting of Personnel Sent Abroad at the Government Expense. Teachers present in the Symposium included 2016 returned overseas teachers at the government expense, teachers obtained 2017 College Young Backbone Teachers Study Abroad Program supported by China Scholarship Council, Program of China’s Visiting Scholars at the Government Expense, and West-China Personnel Training Special Program. Staff in charge of Organization and Personnel Division and Division of International Cooperation and Exchange attended the Training Meeting.

This year 22 teachers in SMU will be sent abroad for further study. Staff in charge from Organization and Personnel Division extended congratulations to these teachers and made detailed introduction to teachers on applying for Young Backbone Teachers Study Abroad Program supported by China Scholarship Council, wages during study abroad, and regulations and disciplines stipulated by China Scholarship Council and SMU. Teachers are expected to achieve academic success and make contributions to the progress of SMU’s cause. Besides, staff in charge of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange made detailed explanations on related disciplines for foreign affairs, demanding teachers' stress on politics, disciplines, and decorum as well as pay attention to their own safety when abroad. 2016 returned overseas teachers also shared their experience with participants and gave advice to the management work of teachers for overseas study.

After the meeting, teachers to-be-abroad in 2017 signed Commitment for SMU Teachers Abroad on Disciplines for Foreign Affairs.
