On September 9th, 2019 the Global Center on Adaptation Chinese Office put on a High Level Accelerating Adaptation Action Round TableGlobal Commission on Adaptation Flagship Report Conference at the Ministry of Ecology with the Environment Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Center.Members from the United Nations, Ecology and Environment, Holland Embassy in China and Global Center on Adaptation all spoke and hosted the conference. Manyenvironmental centers, research centers and universities from around the world, including Renmin University of China, all took part in the conference.
Senior researcher of World Resource Research Center, Carter Brandon, introduced the Flagship Report and introduced and discussed the actions being taken on six areas of world environmental adaptation changes: agriculture, natural environment, water resources, city, basic facilities and damage risk control. Chen Minpeng, from School of Agriculture and Rural Development RUC, was part of the conferences deliberation and offered support for the cooperation between China and World Adaptation Center.
Before the conference began Ban Ki-moon talked with over 50 young students from School of Agriculture and Rural Development, School of Environment, School of International Studiesof RUC and students from other top universities. Ban Ki-moon showed big hopes for the students and their future research on world environmental adaptation changes.
