Thai Ambassador to China Visits DUT

March 20 -- On the afternoon of March 20th, Mr.Theerakun Niyom, Thai Ambassador to China, pays a goodwill visit to our university with his delegation. Guo Dongming, president of DUT, talks with the delegation over Sino-Thai scientific research cooperation and communication among teachers and students at Reception Room 312 of the Main building. Vice president Ning Guiling, director of the department of international cooperation and communication and School of International Education also attends the meeting.

President Guo Dongming expresses his warm welcome to the delegation and delivers a brief introduction about the disciplines, student scale, university ranking and international communication of DUT. Besides, he introduces the enrollment of Thai students in DUT. He says that DUT has joined Association of China-ASEAN Technical Universities and established great communication withKasetsartUniversity. He hopes that DUT can take opportunities to further promote and strengthen its cooperation and exchanges in the field of higher education with Thai universities. Also, he welcomesThailandto send more students to our university to take education.




Mr.Theerakun Niyom says that he has already heard of DUT’s strength and reputation.Thailandis in great need of talents in science and engineering majors, which are exactly DUT’s dominant disciplines. He believes that educational communication plays the vital part in international exchange and friendly cooperation. He expresses his wish to promote the academic exchange with DUT in talents cultivation, credit transfer, summer camps and academic lectures.

Presidenr Guo appreciates his ideas. Meanwhile, he makes a brief introduction on DUT’s national key laboratories and believes that their cooperation in Fine Chemical Engineering, Port and Coastal Engineering, Structural Analysis for Industrial Equipment, etc., enjoys a bright future because of Thailand’s geographical position and present strategies of the development.
