On the morning of April 22nd, Denise B. Maybank, Vice President of Michigan State University and Maya Craft, Career Events Manager of Michigan State University, led a delegation to visit SUFE. Yao Lingzhen, Vice President of SUFE, met with the delegation. Both sides signed cooperation memoranda.
Yao Lingzhen extended a warm welcome to Doctor Denise B. Maybank and the delegation. She said that the employment service sectors of both universities had long-term exchanges and a deep friendship, and appreciated the support of Michigan State University for the development of SUFE. She suggested that both sides further strengthen cooperation on employment services on the basis of the visit. Moreover, she suggested that both sides expand cooperation fields and models based on the existing cooperation, and conduct various and well-rounded cooperation on students’ exchanges, teachers’ visits and scientific research to promote mutual development.
Doctor Denise B. Maybank greatly appreciated the warm reception from SUFE and expressed that it had been her intention to make a return visit to SUFE after the visit of the delegation led by Zhu Mingxiong, Vice Chair of SUFE University Council, last May. She agreed to the proposal of Yao, and mentioned that the main aim of this visit was to implement the diversity of both sides’ cooperation and expand cooperation on teachers’ visits and scientific research on the previous base.
During the meeting, Directors of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the Students Office and the Student Career Guidance Center introduced the international cooperation, students’ exchanges, student’s management and employment services of SUFE. Both sides reviewed cooperation history and exchange achievements of employment service department exchanges from 2013. Both sides discussed and achieved primary cooperation intentions on issues including international summer school, overseas internship practices, mutual visits of teachers, student exchange programs and the teachers’ team for mental health education construction. After the meeting, the Vice Presidents of both sides signed cooperation memoranda representing both sides’ employment service departments.
Ni Zhixing, Director of the Students Office, Chu Hua, Director of the Student Career Guidance Center, and Rong Jun, Vice Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office also attended the meeting.
It is reported that the delegation led by Doctor Denise B. Maybank will meet with teachers in relation to students’ work, the employment service team, representatives of students of SUFE, directors of employment work of other universities, as well as employers of some companies.
