Vice President of University of Adelaide Visited QUST

On the Morning of 30th, October, Mr. John Taplan, Vice President of the world well-known Australian university, University of Adelaide , and the President of US Kaplan Group Asia-Pacific Region Ms. Tang Heping visited QUST . Mr. Li Qingling, Vice President of QUST and officers from International Exchange & Cooperation Office (IECO) met with Mr. Taplan and his delegation.

 

Mr. Li Qingling introduced to guest visitors the great achievements QUST had made in teaching, researches and international cooperation. The delegation was especially impressed by QUST’s constant development in international exchange and cooperation which has been accomplished under the guidance of the strategies of openness and internalization. Mr. Taplan highly complimented on the outstanding accomplishments that QUST had achieved in teaching, R&D and international cooperation, and sincerely presented his hopes for future cooperation among University of Adelaide , QUST and Kaplan. He also stated that University of Adelaide attached great importance to the high-quality all-round cooperation with universities of China and hoped that the two universities would soon start practical cooperation.

 

After the meeting, Professor John Taplan and his delegation were shown around campus and library. With great interests, Mr. Taplan expressed his appreciation on wonderful campus construction and scenery, which surely implies a bright cooperation future between the two universities.

 

University of Adelaide , located in the city center of Adelaide which is the capital of South Australia , is among the 8 most prestigious universities with a long history. Since it was founded in 1874, University of Adelaide has been holding its reputation as one of the class-A universities in Australia and a member of the Top 8 universities. With five Nobel Prize winners and many Rhodes winners, University of Adelaide is well-known for its capabilities in biology, natural science, information technology and telecommunication, science of environment, and social science (especially studies on Asia , international economy and anthropologic geography)
