Date: January 6, 2019

The winter camp of the Confucius Institute in Seoul opened in the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) on Jan. 4, 2019.

The camp, organized by the International Business Chinese Language Teaching and Resource Development Center of the UIBE, aims to give attendees an experience of Chinese culture.

Professor Jiang Qingzhe, secretary of the Party Committee of UIBE, extended a warm welcome to presidents, teachers and students participating in the winter camp in his speech. Jiang said he hoped they can learn more about the Chinese language, become experts on China and contribute toward the cultural communication between China and South Korea.

Jegal Taegiun, president of a senior high school from South Korea, said he felt the friendship between both peoples and hoped to conduct more and deeper cooperation with UIBE.

A student representative from the camp said she felt lucky to have chosen to learn Chinese, which resulted in this opportunity to go to Beijing for exchanges. She thanked the Center for putting together a rich curriculum and organizing fulfilling activities at the camp and said that the experience will become very memorable for her.

The camp, which combines classroom teaching and field experience, includes Chinese language courses, and lectures on topics like traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese painting, paper-cut, China's creative cultural industry, and the film and television industry. Participants will also visit places like the Forbidden City, the National Museum of China, the Summer Palace, and the Great Wall.
