CUC Vice President Li Xinjun Visits Asian, European Universities

Li Xinjun, vice president of Communication University of China (CUC), visited four universities in Asia and Europe with a delegation from May 21 to May 27 to further exchanges and cooperation between CUC and the foreign universities.

The four universities inlcude University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan (UJMCU), Belarusian State University(BSU), Belarusian State University of Culture and Art (BSUCA), and Mykolas Romeris University of Lithuania. The delegation talked with representatives of the universities about joint talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, teaching and learning exchanges, and the establishment of Confucius Institutes.

In UJMCU, the heads there and the delegation discussed scientific research cooperation, joint talent cultivation and summer program in which they enlarged exchanges and detailed cooperation based on the memorandum of academic exchanges signed last November.

President Li discussed the joint cultivation of master and doctoral students and "Belt and Road" joint scientific research with representatives in BSU. And during the visit to BSUCA, CUC delegation shared views with professors present on scientific research cooperation and teaching and learning interaction.

In Lithuania, Li held talks with President Inga Žalėnienė and heads of faculties at Mykolas Romeris University, wishing to strengthen exchanges and visits between teachers and students in the two countries, and planning for the advancement of Confucius Institute.

During the seven-day visit, Jiang Yan, Chinese ambassador to Uzbekistan received the delegation. According to Jiang, Uzbekistan is the first country to join “Belt and Road” Initiative with great influence in central Asia. She hoped that CUC can seize the opportunity of reform and opening up in Uzbekistan, promoting exchanges and cooperation with universities there to cultivate media education cooperation between the two countries.
