Delegation from DAIWA Academy Japanese Language Visited SWUN

A delegation, headed by Mrs. Liu Yanjun, vice president and representative of China affairs of DAIWA Academy Japanese Language, visited SWUN on 5th, September. The delegation was met in the first-floor meeting room of Foreign Students’ Building by the university Vice President En Jia, along with related faculties from SWUN's Division of International Cooperation and Communication, School of Foreign Languages, School of Art, School of Computer Science and Technology, as well as from the University Library.

The meeting marked one of the achievements of the visit made by a SWUN delegation to colleges and universities in Japan and South Korea in July. The two parties had an in-depth discussion and reached a consensus on cooperative projects involving the exchange of students, co-training of teachers and reciprocal recommendation of library resources. Moreover, in the hope of providing more opportunities for students of SWUN to further their study in Japan, DAIWA Academy Japanese Language promised to offer scholarships and deduction or exemption of the tuition fees for excellent students, especially those from minority ethnic groups. In addition, non-Japanese majors will be provided with opportunities to study in Japan. During the meeting, the two parties went into greater detail about expanding future cooperation, establishing a better platform of international communication for teachers and students and providing them with more study opportunities.

News Link: Located in Osaka, DAIWA Academy Japanese Language was established in October 2006. The Academy was recognized by the Office of Education, Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Osaka. The Academy has signed cooperation agreements with a number of Chinese universities on establishing training programs for Postgraduates Entrance Examination and bases for internships. SWUN has cooperated with the Academy for eight years and hundreds of students have been enrolled in leading Japanese universities with the aid of the cooperative programs.
