On June 4th, at the invitation of the Medical School of Shanghai University, Dr. Debra F. Weinstein, Vice President of the Graduate Medical Education Association of Partners HealthCare System, HMS Associate Professor of Medicine and gastroenterologist of Massachusetts General Hospital, delivered an academic speech themed on “Status Quo, Challenge and Vision of Physician Education in US”.

Dr. Weinstein introduced the training and education system of American medical students in a comprehensive and detailed manner from education system, training objectives, teaching mode, admission policies, faculty reserve, teaching contents, teaching evaluation and other aspects and elaborated the changes, evolution reasons and development trends of medical education. All participants exchanged views on issues mentioned by Dr. Weinstein. Professor Xu Jinlian briefed the situations on the construction of the Medical School (in preparation) of Shanghai University. Dr. Weinstein highly recognized the construction concept of the Medical School and looked forward to joining hands with the Medical School to promote the in-depth development of worldwide research on medical student education.
