18 April, the 21st CUBA College Basketball League Southeast Zone came to a close at the Nanhu Gymnasium of the China University of Mining and Technology, located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. After a few days of relentless efforts to win, East China Normal University lost 75-87 to Xiamen University in the championship game.

Even as the runner-up, it was the best score created in the history of ECNU men's basketball team, and it also set the precedent for the best record achieved since universities in Shanghai participated in CUBA.

Over the course of four years, the ECNU men's basketball team once again made their way to the top of the national competition.

When talking about the next national competition, coach Ni said that the national competition will adopt a new competition format consisting of double elimination, so that in order to prepare for it and strive to make another breakthrough again, ECNU would need to commit themselves to the same hard effort as the last tournament.
