The 14th International Conference on Engineering, Science, Construction, and Operations in Challenging Environments，ASCE was held in Saint Louis USA on 29thOctober, in which Prof. Li Hongnan from Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering in DUT won the 2013 ASCE/ASD Outstanding Technical Contribution Award.
The evaluation process of ASCE/ASD Outstanding Technical Contribution Award is very strict that no more than one person is awarded every year. The candidate list is first proposed by those internationally influential experts and then filtered by the anonymous members from awards committee of ASCE/ASD according to various factors, i.e. international influence, published papers, engineering applications etc. Li is the first Chinese expert winning the award since it was set up.
The conference belongs to American Society of Civil Engineers，ASCE and has该been held successfully for 14 times. Li was invited to give a special keynote “Advances and Applications on Structural Vibration Control of Infrastructures”, which is mainly about the most advanced theoretical achievement and industrial application in the field of engineering safety and monitoring.
