On May 26th, 2019, SDUT held its Alumni Symposium in the conference room on the 9th floor of Hongyuanlou Building which were attended by LYU Chuanyi, the party secretary of SDUT, YI Yuchen, the deputy secretary of the party committee, LIU Guohua, the party committee member and vice president and ZHANG Jinsheng, the party committee member, the secretary of the Disciplinary Committee and was also attended by 19 alumni representatives from all over the country and heads of relevant functional departments of the school. The Symposium was hosted by LIU Guohua.

LYU Chuanyi gave a welcome speech and extended a warm welcome to the alumni. He said that the school anniversary was not only a festival for teachers and students, but also a festival for alumni at home and abroad. This year, SDUT had invited some alumni representatives to revisit SDUT to celebrate her 63rd birthday in the form of an alumni symposium to discuss mutual development which was simple but meaningful. On the occasion of the school anniversary, SDUT sent a festive blessing and good wishes to the alumni both at home and abroad. At the same time, SDUT expressed the festive congratulations to all the teachers and students as well as the retired teachers.

LYU Chuanyi introduced the school’s reform and development in recent years to the alumni representatives from three aspects, namely, aiming at one goal, building two teams and implementing three focuses.

LYU Chuanyi pointed out that SDUT had been attaching great importance to alumni work which was the extension of school education. Alumni’s success was SDUT’s success and glory. It was the alma mater’s responsibility to promote the development of alumni and make the alumni achieve greater success. Although alma mater’s strength was meager, as long as the alumni needed a help, the alma mater would do everything to help the alumni.

Some alumni present made their speeches and emotionally reviewed their own study and work experience. They expressed their sincere joy and appreciation for the achievements of SDUT’s reform and development, made suggestions for the school to better achieve high quality development and for the cooperation with the school and expressed their best wishes to SDUT and the teachers.

LIU Guohua pointed out that Shandong University of Technology had gone through 63 years’ thick and thin and achieved remarkable results. It has won high social recognition and high praise. These were closely related to the concerns and loves of the alumni and the society. In the days to come, SDUT hopes to continue to receive the attention and support from the alumni and work together to write a new chapter in the school history of reform and development.
