On July 12, 2019 International Seminar on Green-Intelligent Manufacturing of High-end Equipment was held in the Lecture Hall in Yifu Library. Those who attended the meeting included scholars in the manufacturing field from many countries and regions, among others, Australia, Britain, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong of China, and over 100 scholars from universities, enterprises and research institutes all over China. ZHANG Tiezhu, President and Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of SDUT, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Professor ZHENG Hongyu, also Special Assistant to the President and Honorary President of Qingdao Research Institute, presided over the opening ceremony.

In his speech, ZHANG Tiezhu expressed warm welcome and heartfelt thanks on behalf of SDUT for the arrival of the scholars. He briefed them on the university, School of Mechanical Engineering, and major achievements yielded in scientific research, international exchanges and cooperation in recent years.

ZHANG pointed out that all representatives were gathered at Jixia Lake in Zibo, Capital of former Qi State, to discuss cutting-edge technologies of laser processing and nano-materials,which will surely be of great significance to the future development of international green-intelligent manufacturing industry of high-end equipment.

And then ZGANG Tiezhu and ZHENG Hongyu jointly unveiled the “Research Center for Laser High-end Manufacturing” of Shandong University of Technology.

After the ceremony, 14 experts, including Professor LI Lin of Manchester University and Professor Seeram Ramakrishna of the National University of Singapore, both also Academicians of the Royal College of Engineering, gave mind-blowing lectures on additive manufacturing, nanotechnology and surface engineering, micro-nano manufacturing, ultra-precision processing, and intelligent manufacturing.

After that, the scholars visited the Research Center for Laser High-end Manufacturing.

The seminar was organized by School of Mechanical Engineering and Qingdao Research Institute, and co-organized by the International Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing and Zibo Center for Transfer and Transformation of Sci-Tech Achievements.
