In the afternoon of July 4, SDUT and Thermo Fisher Scientific signed a laboratory strategic cooperation agreement and held an opening ceremony for the joint laboratory in the lecture hall on the first floor of Hongyuan Building. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Erwan Sourty, Director of Applied Technology in Asia-Pacific District of Thermo Fisher Scientific, XU Yu, Sales Manager in East China District of Thermo Fisher Scientific, Professor YI Weiming, a member of the Standing Committee of the School Party Committee and Vice President of SDUT, and heads of relevant departments of SDUT Asset Management Office, Experimental Management Center, Analytical and Testing Center, and School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

In his speech, YI Weiming introduced the development and main achievements of SDUT and Analytical and Testing Center in recent years, and congratulated the establishment of the joint laboratory. He observed that the establishment of the joint laboratory marked a key step in international integration of Analytical and Testing Center in the field of advanced micro-nanostructure analysis, and the two sides should take it  as an opportunity to promote cooperation in various fields.

At the ceremony, the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, the two sides will co-establish a joint laboratory, rely on the micro-nanostructure analysis platform of SDUT Analytical and Testing Center, which is based on sophisticated instruments including spherical aberration transmission electron microscope, ultrafast transmission electron microscope and focusing ion beam microscope, and carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of resource sharing, science and technology cooperation and talent cultivation.
